Since April 01, 2025, btv technologies has been an official member of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). With this step, we are clearly committing ourselves to actively shaping standards such as VDA 6.8 and to working closely with OEMs and suppliers in one of the industry's most important networks.
New challenges require new answers. The automotive industry is facing a period in which uncertainty has become the norm: global crises, volatile markets, climate risks, and new regulatory requirements such as the Cyber Resilience Act are shaping the supply chain. The days when just-in-time and finely balanced supply chains were considered guarantees of efficiency are over. Today, end-to-end transparency is key to avoiding blind spots and responding flexibly to global events. Even minor delays can trigger production stoppages—with enormous cost implications.

Our membership in the VDA is more than a formal act – it is an expression of our commitment to not only react to change, but to help shape it.
As a VDA member, we contribute our experience and technological perspective to the relevant committees, discuss best practices with OEMs, suppliers, and service providers, and work together to develop the supply chain of the future. This gives us and our customers early access to regulatory developments, exclusive training, and a strong network – and makes us an equal partner for anyone who wants to make their processes future-proof and compliant.
VDA 6.8: New standards for a resilient supply chain
With the introduction of VDA 6.8, the automotive industry is setting a new standard for process reliability, transparency, and collaboration along the entire value chain. The standard requires a structured, risk-based analysis of all supply chain processes, complete documentation, clear evaluation systems, and regular audits—both internal and external. For the first time, it brings all process partners together under one set of rules and integrates current requirements such as information security, ESG, and cybersecurity.
We support the supply chain in all phases of the product life cycle – from the first prototype to the last spare part. A particular focus here is on the long-term storage of electronic components: In the automotive industry in particular, spare parts and components often have to remain available and functional for many years in order to meet legal requirements and the expectations of OEMs and end customers.
Our storage processes meet the highest standards (e.g. based on DIN EN IEC 62435) and ensure that even sensitive components such as semiconductors, control units and complex electronic assemblies are protected, documented and traceable in the long term.
A truly unique selling point of btv technologies is our power supply service for control units with our own equipment. Through regular energization during long-term storage, we maintain the functionality and insulation capacity of sensitive assemblies – a decisive factor in preventing failures due to ageing, oxidation or loss of capacity. This service is particularly essential for control units and safety-relevant components and is being requested by more and more OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
Our VDA membership is therefore also an expression of our commitment to supporting the entire value chain - from development and series production to spare parts supply – with future-proof, process-safe and auditable solutions. In this way, we ensure the availability, quality and traceability of electronic components throughout the entire product life cycle and make an active contribution to the resilience and compliance of the automotive supply chain.
1. Modular, digital, auditable:
Our solutions are designed to fit seamlessly into the modular process structures of VDA 6.8. Whether project management, supplier control, warehouse and transport logistics, or customer management—btv offers digital tools for every process stage that enable seamless traceability and efficient control of material flows.
2. Process reliability and transparency:
With the tak model and our IT-supported warehouse and inventory management, we create maximum transparency regarding stocks, movements, and the status of all components. Every component can be tracked throughout its entire life cycle – a central component for auditability according to VDA 6.8.
3. Risk management and compliance:
Information security and ESG requirements are already standard at btv. Processes are regularly audited, risks are identified at an early stage and managed together with partners. In this way, we support companies in reliably meeting regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
4. Collaboration and continuous improvement:
