Testing & Quality Control

Functional Testing & Selection

We test and select components to your specification – from standard testing to custom test fixtures, including wobble circle testing for pin position verification. Good/bad classification and tighter tolerance selection than standard manufacturer delivery.

  • DAkkS-calibrated equipment, semi- and fully automated processes, controlled climatic conditions
  • Initial feedback often within 24 hours

Authenticity & Counterfeit Testing

Our authenticity testing for electronic components identifies counterfeit or non-conforming components early: a multi-stage component authenticity check – visual, dimensional and parametric. In case of suspected counterfeiting, it also serves as counterfeit IC detection for critical semiconductors.

Use Case What btv technologies delivers
Counterfeit suspicion Authenticity check – visual, dimensional, parametric
Incoming inspection Delivery verification against ordered specification
Obsolescence / End of Life Support with alternative qualification – drop-in and functional equivalents

Request a quote now: We'll discuss which test fits your components in a personal conversation.

PCB & Failure Analysis

Component Identification without a BOM

Our PCB analysis provides answers when it's unclear what's actually assembled. No BOM available? We deliver full component identification, including manufacturer, part number, and function.

Failure Analysis for field failures

Root cause analysis (failure analysis) down to circuit and trace level: short circuits, solder joint irregularities, and component defects – localized and documented. For returns, we deliver a component-level failure report including lot traceability.

Use Case What btv technologies delivers
No BOM available Full component identification incl. manufacturer, part number, function
Quality issue / field failure Fault analysis: solder joints, short circuits, component defects, mechanical damage
Redesign / obsolescence Optimization recommendation with focus on supply security
Returns analysis Component-level failure report including lot traceability

Send us your assembly – we'll tell you what to do.

Component Reconditioning

Component reconditioning at btv: restoring your components to manufacturer specification – including authenticity check, baking, taping and visual inspection. A structured, documented process – unlike a classic electronics repair service, which typically only fixes isolated issues instead of fully restoring the original condition.

Authenticity first

Before every restoration, we verify the component's authenticity and document the result – particularly relevant for components from the secondary or spot market. We share details of our testing methodology in a personal conversation.

Request now: We'll check whether reconditioning is worthwhile for your components.

Drying & Baking

Drying & baking for moisture-sensitive components (Moisture Sensitive Devices, MSD): controlled drying and standard-compliant heat treatment to IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033 for moisture- and aging-sensitive electronics. Every step in the process is continuously monitored and documented – including bag-and-seal packaging.

During storage, the moisture barrier bag remains sealed – traceability is maintained at packaging-unit level, without exposing the component to unnecessary risk from moisture or ESD.

  • Individual process adaptation: tape or tray, strictly to standard or to your specification
  • Long-term-storage-ready: quality-assured baking and documented drying for subsequent long-term storage

Taping & Packaging / Assembly / Repackaging & Traceability

Our tape-and-reel service covers SMD taping and the packaging of electronic components end to end: standardized and custom taping – from small batch sizes to fully automated high-volume series taping. Packaging to IPC/JEDEC standard or exactly to your specification, including strapping and assembly services – beading, bending and cutting of component leads.

  • State-of-the-art 2D and 3D inspection, even in high-volume operation
  • Lot splitting, recount, repack – every packaging unit fully documented
  • One point of contact, no repackaging, no compromises

Request now: We'll find the right packaging solution for your components.

Programming in Detail

Programming isn't an add-on for us – it's a full-fledged component service, on equal footing with testing, taping and reconditioning. We program for any line and all common manufacturers: from standard flashing to btv SEEL® for CRA/TISAX Enhanced. Here too, our standard service promise applies: 10 days standard, 24 hours express.

  • Express case: line-ready within 24 hours – with no compromise on traceability or quality
  • Suitable for any production line and all common manufacturers

Critical Parts Concept – Using the Nexperia crisis as an example

During the Nexperia crisis in autumn 2025, companies faced a classic problem: the manufacturer, which supplies around 40 percent of standard chips for the automotive industry, could no longer deliver as usual – fair-share allocations by distributors decided who could keep producing and who couldn't.

The Critical Parts Concept is the structural answer to this. It works on three pillars:

Pillar What this means for you
Procurement on demand You negotiate prices and quantities directly with manufacturers and decide what is bought where. btv technologies implements it immediately – around the clock, globally.
Reconditioning at goods-in Every component is inspected, recorded with lot number, production date and country of origin, and marked with the customer's logo – the same structured process as our Component Reconditioning. From goods-in onward, the goods are owned by the customer.
Distribution per customer instruction Stock can be allocated within minutes – no fair-share risk, no approval loops.

Request now: We'll show you how the Critical Parts Concept works for your supply chain.

About industry solutions

FAQ – Direct, honest, to the point

Yes. btv technologies is ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016 and AEO C/S certified. All services – from programming to testing – are documented in certified processes and audit-ready. AEO certification additionally secures accelerated customs clearance and preferential treatment in international trade.

You'll receive an initial response to your inquiry within 24 hours. For component services and programming, the following then applies: 10 business days in the standard process, 24 hours for express requests. We'll clarify the exact terms for express cases in a personal conversation.

Yes – and that's a key advantage. Components can be stored and, on request, programmed, taped or assembled directly. One process, one handover, complete traceability from goods-in to delivery.

We work with zero-error tolerance: every single component is 100% verified against its programming image. 3D inspection, laser marking to customer specification, integrated testing and complete traceability ensure the highest quality standards are met.

Yes. In case of suspected counterfeit or non-conforming components, we perform a multi-stage authenticity check – visual, dimensional and parametric, documented and audit-ready.

Even without an existing BOM, we deliver full component identification – including manufacturer, part number and function – as the basis for testing, reconditioning or redesign.

Reconditioning at btv is a structured, fully documented process to restore components to manufacturer specification – including baking, taping and visual inspection. This differs from selective repair through the traceability and repeatability of every step.

The Critical Parts Concept structurally secures business-critical components – independent of fair-share allocations. Every component is inspected at goods-in to the same standard as our reconditioning process, recorded with lot number, production date and country of origin, and marked with your logo. From that moment on, the goods belong to you. We'll clarify what this looks like for your specific supply structure in a conversation.

CRA reporting obligations apply from September 2026. What that means for your programming process — and where btv SEEL® fits in.

NIS2 or the CRA — or Both?

Two frameworks, two different goals. We break down NIS2 and the CRA, connect them to BSI TR-03183 and EN 18031 — and explain what this means for your components.

EN 18031: The Deadline That's Already Here

While everyone talks about the 2027 CRA deadline, EN 18031 has been mandatory since 1 August 2025 — no transition period. Here's who's affected and what needs to be provable now.

What Really Happened to Your Component?

A component passes through many stations — from goods receipt to handover. Why the link between component, process step, and outcome often gets lost, and how a Chain of Trust fixes that.

Geopolitics Doesn’t Stop at the Border. It Reaches Your BOM.

Trade restrictions, raw-material concentration and allocation pressure rarely arrive as a headline in procurement. They surface as critical parts, lead-time shifts and redesign pressure.
